Race is one of those topics that we as Americans have a very difficult time discussing in a productive fashion in public. This online experiment is a project of emPower Magazine, USARiseUp, and OnlineTownhalls to see if we can start a deeper conversation about race in America.
In this online conversation, you’ll see some video interviews we conducted with tourists on the National Mall in Washington, DC. These participants were asked to make a statement or ask a question that would serve as a conversation starter, raising issues of fairness, racial profiling, segregation, etc. They raised these issues so that participants such as yourself can dive in and take the conversation further online.
